EOTRH - Max 26 year old dressage pensionerWritten by: Dennis Ruf
Type: Treatment journals
Age: 26 years old
Description: Former dressage horse
Disease picture / symptoms:
|When visiting the veterinarian Dr. Julie Schwechler discovered that Max had advanced EOTRH disease. She suggested we treat vetdrop immediately.
Max had severe pain in the roof of his mouth and it was obvious that the gums were inflamed. We heated up the air supply to make sure the cold air wouldn't cause increased pain. Max didn't like the treatment at first, but the third time he held still so that a treatment could be performed on the palate. The pain quickly subsided and after the 5th day he no longer responded to pressure on the roof of his mouth.
He has an unpleasant smell coming out of his mouth.

On April 2nd we decided to treat once a day until May 11th. The smell from his mouth was much better by April 1nd and was barely noticeable during the treatment. Every day his condition got better and the smell became less and less strong.
on May 8th I did a carrot test and he passed that test and could break the carrot with his teeth.
